Last May, me and my husband visited Palau for the first time and we will absolutely visit it again. It's like paradise, the underwater world is fenominal and also the scenery is like magic. Caroline's Resort makes you visit complete. The people who work there are most friendly and the cabins are beautiful with an amazing view. We travelled around the world for three months, but our visit at Palau and Caroline's was the best!

My wife and i spent 5 nights at The Carolines Resort in March. The place is fantastic. The views are wonderful, the breakfasts and dinners on the balcony delicious and all of the staff were so helpful and kind. Zenie was so helpful with regards the tours we went on. If you are thinking of visiting beautiful Palau, then this is the place to stay.

We had such a great and lovely time in Palau and especially at The Carolines. We loved having breakfast on "our" veranda. The view was amazing. After a "busy" day diving we enjoyed the quite and peaceful location of our bungalow. Special thanks to the friendly staff. We hope to be back one day.

Many thanks to Zenie and her staff for a wonderful stay at Carolines. The resort is a relaxing and lovely spot. After active days touring the gorgeous islands of Palau it was always a treat to come back to our comfortable bungalow in the evening. The proximity to the beach is a real plus, and Zenie's knowledge of tour operators on Palau is incredibly helpful. Best wishes to the Carolines team for a successful 2008!

My boyfriend and I spent 10 days at Caroline's this past August and we had the time of our lives. The bungalow was private, cozy, and had the most spectacular views on the island! The staff goes far and beyond to make sure you feel at home. They provide impecible service and make sure all your needs are met. We hope to return to Palau soon and when we do---we will defninitely be staying at Caroline's again! Thank you to all the staff! Best wishes for the fall season!

My husband and I spent 5 glorious days at Carolines in early September. This was our second time to Palau, the first being on a live aboard. This time we wanted to experience a land based vacation and we were not disappointed. When looking to book our accomodations we came across The Carolines and thought is looked perfect - and it was. The Carolines is magical. It's everything described on the website and more. I highly recomend to anyone to stay at the Carolines. My husband and I have already decided, next time is for 2 weeks!!!

This August (2007) me and my girlfriend went to Palau. We had already been two weeks in the Philippines, so going to Palau was kind of spontaneous. Luckily we found Carolines. The resort definitely has a more native feel than the other resorts nearby, with their fantastic cottages located perfectly on the hillside. The crew (Jimmy, Nelson and in particular Shanie) treated us like royalty. Their easy going made us feel very much welcome. Even though the resort doesn't have its own beach or pool, the short walk is not a problem. Compared to other resorts on the islands, you really get your money worth. Our one week at the resort was amazing and we would love to come back one day. Thank you!

Carolines was everything we had hoped for and more. We were there 10 days in May and after talking with several other people who stayed in Palau at other places, we knew we had made the right choice with Carolines. Even those who stayed at the large fancy resorts envied us--some had tried to book at Carolines but they were full at the time.
Every morning we had breakfast delivered to our room and enjoyed it on our open porch looking out over the ocean. Delicious, hot and the plate was a banana leaf. For dinner the driver was always available to take us into town and pick us up again--no problems there.
Our room was the best! #8 at the top, a little further to walk but well worth it. The pictures of the room here on the web site don't really do it justice--mahogony throughout and very spacious.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Carolines to anyone, just email us for more info--glad to share our pleasant experiences and make recommendations on what to do, where to eat, etc in Palau. (Necco is the best for diving! Best boats, best lunches, best service.)

Carolines is a wonderful place. My girlfriend and I stayed for 8 nights over New Years. Everything was perfect - the bungalows are well-built and well-maintained, the views are the best in Palau, free access to the beach/facilities at PPR nice on non-dive days, breakfast & the occasional dinner on the private balcony a great way to start and end the day, and, most of all, Zenie and the staff at Carolines were amazing. Thanks Zenie - we wish we were still there!

Greetings from Texas to all at Carolines Bit of Heaven, My wife Mary and I treated ourselves to the best of Xmas gifts with one week each in Palau and Yap and have never been more welcome, better treated, or enjoyed a stay more. Our first trip to the far Pacific began with a welcome sign at the Palau Airport, a lei, and a smile that set the tone for our stay. The lodging was beautiful, the service was excellent, and, I must admit, breakfast on the patio of our cabin was a treat I could get very very used to. Carolines is not a big resort but a small location with a big heart, great access to Pacific Palau Resort's beach and snorkeling, and a sincere commitment to make sure all of a travelers needs are met, if not exceeded. I would (I will) definitely go back again to the Carolines

Aloha to Zenie and all the beautiful staff at the Carolines! I had an amazing time in Palau and it was especially enhanced by staying in this quiet and peaceful place. The room had a special warmth with gorgeous views of the water and hillside. And after a day of exploring it was always soothing to know I was returning to a more remote bungalow with kind people to help if I was in need of anything. I would definitely recommend this resort, as it is small and quiet with loving hosts! Aloha from O'ahu!!! Thank you!!!!

Thanks to all at Carolines. We had an incredible stay (September 8 to the 10th, then September 17th to the 22nd). Thanks to Zeni, Apple, Roanne, Nelson and the rest of the staff for making our stay so special. We were in Cottage #7. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, the view was breathtaking and the detail for service was incredible. The staff went way out of their way to make our stay very special. We will be back. Lots of thanks to Zenie, Nelson and the others at the Carolines Resort. We had a wonderful 5-day vacation on Palau and would love to come back. Staying in the spacious and private family bungalow at the resort was very comfortable with our two small children of 3 and 1?. Swimming pool and beach were only a two minute drive away and we could easily include a trip to the beach into every days program. Having breakfast on the balcony of our bungalow was very special indeed!

Through the help of a good friend John DeVivo, we had the opportunity to stay at the Carolines Resort and ABSOLULELTY FELL IN LOVE with the place. Palau is naturally spectacular, but to have a place that compliments the beautiful surrounding with awesome panoramic view of the rock islands was just beyond imagination. The bungalows with the friendly staff and excellent service was certainly an added bonus to an amazing 3 nights. Please pass on our deepest gratitude to Ngira John and to the excellent crew at the resort. We hope on visiting again soon and enjoying the place for a longer period of time. Kmal mesulang!

Alli, Thank you Zenie and everyone at The Carolines Resort for your kindness during my stay in Belau. Your assistance was appreciated when I had my medical problems. It was nice to have some friendly faces who were concerned about my condition to get me through, being so far from home. RoAnne was so attentive and ready to handle requests for nextday plans. The breakfasts were great and a good way to start the day. Being able to visit the Palau Pacific Resort (PPR) was a trip saver for me. The snorkeling was very nice. It was so nice for Crazy Jimmy to show me some of the sights of town on his off duty time, becase I was not able to get out on my own. Thanks again for all of your help. Hopefully someday I can come back to have my vacation.

Zenie, We were so impressed with how much effort you guys put into making our stay in Palau so fun. From picking us up at the airport, to incredible breakfasts on our porch served on banana leaves, to a well stocked fridge in the room, to friendly Palauans everywhere, our whole stay was just incredible. We loved having the PPR facilities nearby to use, but we loved being able to come "home" to a quieter, more relaxed bungalow at the Carolines. Thank you so much for all your kindness. You folks are the best. I'm sorry Palau is so far away - we'd love to come back soon!!!

We've only just returned home, and I can tell you that a picture of the sunset as viewed from the balcony of bungalow no. 3 is now a wallpaper for my computer screen. I went to the Carolines Resort this past summer. Although the flight came in late, neverless there was someone waiting for us to get our bags. To top that off they had fresh lays for us to wear. I felt like royality! They set us up with our room and mafe us feel like we were at home. In the morning, right on time came our breakfast. It was steaming hot, and the women who delivered it to us were as kind as could be and cometed on how beautiful i was. Went it was time for us to go SCUBA diving the van was right on time and our adevture began. The water was so clear you didn't know when you couldn't see! TONS OF FISH, TONS OF SHARKS(no worries they don't bother you) and the guides are relaxed and laidback. Once we got back the staff was ready to do anything for our dinne. we didn't feel like leaving so the order a pizza for us. They staff at this Resort is ready to make you stay at Palau was wonderful as possible. Anything you need they already have it for you. I would like to thank everyone there for making me feel at home when i was so far away from my real home. I can't wait to come back.

Aiiii. A huge thank you to the Carolines resort on our recent Dive trip! We loved the luxury of the rooms and the fantastic position of "the little resort on top of the hill". All the locals we talked to confirmed that you are the best place to stay! It was truely a luxery to come home to air-conditioned rooms and hot showers. The mini-bars also got a bit of a work out. I love this website, I haven't been back home since 1992 and I can see how much has changed since I've been gone. Your website doesn't just attract foreigners and tourist it attracts fellow Palauans that haven't been back home in ages. Your site makes me want to fly down immediately,I wish you and yours a very prosperous future and best wishes in your future endeavors. Add photos of guests and tourist that wouldn't mind having their pictures online along side their comments on their adventure at Carolines and Palau, that should bring more attraction to carolines if guests that visit the website can have a visual on people that came and left with happy memories. All the best!

You know, we would NEVER say enough! The Caroline's and Palau was an ultimate vacation for us. We thought it would the the trip of a lifetime. Not so, we want to go back and always do when we visit this site and watch slides from our trip. We thought if we could bottle the sounds we heard at night it would help. We miss the sounds, the smells, the people, the sites, the quiet...you name it, we miss it, want to go back, never forget it, can't stop talking about it...fall in love with each other all over again and with the Carolines too! the history, the DIVING (awsome!).

Zenie and the entire Carolines' staff made us feel right at home during our honeymoon! Their service and hospitality were better than a 5 star hotel. Staying at the Carolines is the best place on the island and the bungalows have a great view ABOVE the PPR. It's by far the best place to stay in Palau. Also a special note to traveler's, Koror has ALL the conveniences you can find in the USA like fully stocked grocery stores and department stores, so don't worry about packing items thinking that you might not find them on such a remote island. Enjoy your next trip to Palau!!!

We stayed at the Carolines during our honeymoon in October, 2001. This is a wonderful resort in the beautiful, amazing country of Palau. Zenie and the rest of the crew made us feel welcome and keep the resort in terrific condition. Transportation is easy to arrange; the bungalows are very comfortable and intimate. We particularly enjoyed the breakfasts brought to our balcony overlooking the lagoon. We highly recommend the Carolines resort for a special and delightful vacation.

Greetings from Seattle! We arrived early yesterday morning (May 31st) after a long trip from Yap. The weather in Seattle today is beautiful--we have sunshine and about 70 degrees farenheit. The lake looks wonderful today but not as lovely as the view of the Rock Islands from our balcony at The Carolines Resort. Thank you to Zenie and her staff for making our stay at The Carolines so special. We enjoyed ourselves very much and appreciated every little detail that Zenie and her staff did to make our stay so special. The bungalows were spotless and meals always arrived on time. Though the setting was lovely, what made The Carolines so extraordinary is Zenie and her staff and their gracious hospitality. Hello all. We just returned from Palau. We spent 7 nights at Carolines from 23 January to 30 January 2002. This was the most relaxing and romantic place that we have EVER stayed. The bungalow was absolutely superb.. we loved the hand-carved details. The view from our balcony was breathtaking both at night and day. Having breakfast brought to us and served on our balcony each morning really started the day off perfect. The food was excellent and filling. The staff was GREAT!! From the managers all the way down to the grounds keepers.. everyone was always friendly and went out of their way to speak to us as if they knew us. Every request was met with no hesitation. Zenie the manager was sweet even to the point of a goodbye hug. The night clerk (sorry I never got your name) was always helpful in arranging transportation. Nelson, our driver, was always prompt and super courteous. Carmen, who to our eyes did several jobs, was sweet and helpful. Thanks to all of you for making our vacation perfect!! If anyone is planning a trip to Palua and would like more information or pictures, please email us. If this is anyone's first trip to Palua.. stay at Carolines. It will definately add to your experience in Palau.

We visted Palau and the Carolines Resort for our honeymoon in October. Zenie and her attentive staff never ceased to do everything they could to make our stay in Palau perfect. We stayed at the one of the largest resorts on Palau (the Palau Pacific Resort) before moving over to the Carolines. We found that the friendly staff made all the differance. They not only did they make us feel at home, but they went out of their way to arrange our boat rides, hikes, dives, and restaurants, and even provided the transportation! What could could be better than a postcard perfect sunset on the deck of your own bungalow, drink in hand, after a day of diving and before a romantic night out. What an unbelievable place to stay. Thank you for for everything Zenie!

The Carolines is a gem. Definitely the most romantic place to stay in Palau, but can be a little lonely if you're by yourself. The secluded bungalows have amazing views and are nicely furnished. Overall the accomodations are "elegantly rustic" -- if you're going to be worried about finding a gecko in your room, or have a hard time with low water pressure, you might want one of the more commercial hotels, but if you're into quiet evenings, beautiful sunsets, privacy, and friendly helpful service, this is the ONLY place to stay in Palau.

The Carolines is an excellent choice for a quiet location but without being isolated. There is an excellent drop off and pick up service which means you can be where you want to be quickly. The people are friendly and cannot do enough to make the stay relaxing and care free. The views from the balcony are superb. In sum, a quiet, relaxing and private location but with quick drop off and pick ups so you can go where and when you want. Excellent service and best of all excellent people to help with any issue. We are going back next year. Any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Just got back home a few days ago and I miss Palau already. Although I traveled alone, Zenie and her staff made me feel right at home. The Carolines Resort was a wonderful treat. I enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners which the staff brought to the cottage. Everyone I encountered, staff and other guests, were all very special people. Thanks for having me and I look forward to seeing you again.

Thanks to Zenie and her attentive staff for making us feel so at home again. The spectacular diving and hospitality at the Carolines drew us back only five months from our last visit. We can think of no better way to start a day than having the wonderful breakfast delivered to our balcony and enjoying the great food and the heavenly view of the Rock Islands. And we can think of no better way than to end the day of magical diving than watching the setting sun from the balcony. This time, we also enjoyed the Carolines' tasty preparation of local fish for dinner in the comfort of our bungalow. We want to thank each and everyone at the Carolines--Zenie, Roberto, Annie, Eustacia, Nelson, Rey, Arnold, Ed, Mariano, (hopefully Jimmy is back now too!)--for their hospitality.

The food (lunch and dinner if you want too) is excellent, a bargain, and served with tropical flair and flowers. Allthe staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - they will go out of their way to arrange anything you want. Carolines also has the best gift shop in Palau. Palau is a Paradise! I can't wait to go back. I had the pleasure of staying at the Carolines Resort and it was everything I expected. The view from the bungalow was breathtaking! I loved having breakfast on the balcony every morning. The fruits were delicious and your prices very reasonable. The rooms were spacious and cozy, and the VCR in the room was an unexpected surprise. It made us feel really "at home". The staff were very hospitable and warm. Special thanks to Jimmy for all his efforts in making our stay comfortable. Zenie, thanks for setting up the Rock Island tour. A tour every visitor to Palau should take! The experience will stay with you forever. And to the rest, thanks for taking the time to take us to the various delicious restaurants and shops. Definitely a nice change from the usual "Resort Hotel" stay!

I have many wonderful artifacts given to me by the locals, shell money, story boards, statues of gods, a wonderful wooden monkey lamp and monkey statues, and paintings done local artists. Enjoyed you website, especially because I lived in Palau from 1964 to 1968--in Melekeok and later in Koror. Tried all your website segments but had no success in finding a map showing where you are located on Koror. A site map would be a good addition. Ever thought about it? Or maybe it's there and I just couldn't find it. Look forward to coming down for a vist. The pictures look like your resort is located somewhere near the old "Topside." Love the look of the bungalows.

The Carolines is the greatest place on Palau and the hospitality of the staff cannot be beat. A special thanks to the staff and management of the Carolines for making our recent visit so wonderful. Anyone looking for an intimate place to stay while visiting Palau, or just looking to rekindle a relationship, should definitely stay at the Carolines. Thanks again for everything!

My husband and I are planning to sail from L.A. through the South Pacific. We planned to head upward toward Japan, stopping in Guam. I saw this tiny chain of islands on our map and well, the rest is history. Although it is out of our way - We will defininely be stopping in Palau. Hope to see you in about a year.

We thoroughly enjoyed our honeymoon at the Carolines!! Laura and Zenie are most excellent hosts, and Jimmy was awesome. We both travel quite a bit, and we have never seen the level of service and hospitality offered by the Carolines, even at some high-end hotels in the USA. Add this to the most beautiful sunsets ever (right from the balcony!) and islands that define "tropical paradise," and you have the makings of the best holiday you will ever have. Thanks for everything, Carolines!

My husband and I are going to Palau Island for two weeks starting October 22. We are celebrating our 10th year wedding anniversary in Palau and can't wait to finally see it. Growing up with the last name Palau has always drawn my curiosity to it and after reading lots of book, pictures, website and scuba magazines I will finally get to live my dream and see what its like and have the experience of a lifetime. Now that you've finally got a website it has made me feel more anxious than ever. The Carolines Bungalows looks like such an intimate place to stay and enjoy the true Palau experience. I can't wait to see your bungalows.

I was just browsing and found your beautiful web site. Palau must be one of the most spectacular places on earth. I've been to many tropical islands but have seen nothing like what I see in your pictures. Thank you for sharing your beautiful country. I love web sites like this!! I can't wait to come.

The staff and scenery alone make the trip. The Carolines Resort blends modern convenience with Palauan charm.
